Seat Question

I'm not an enthusiast, but I do drive a 1994 Ford Explorer. It's got a driver's seat problem: The back's mechanism is worn out and I'd like to replace the seat. Color isn't that big of an issue since I can put a seat cover over both front seats. I just need to know what year of driver's seat might be compatible if I need to buy a used replacement seat. Can a seat from a 1991-94 or ONLY 1994 be used? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

i'm pretty sure 91-94 would work, and i KNOW someone will correct me if i'm wrong..have you tried repairing the seat? what's wrong with it exactly?

any 91-01 seat should fit.

The back goes too far back, like there is a worn out groove? I'm not a mechanic, so I guess that is the best way to describe it. The driver's seat back goes too far back, as though the notch most comfortable for me is worn away. I feel like I'm too reclined as I drive. Does that help?

I feel like mine does the same thing. I'm about to replace it but wasn't sure what years will work. I have a 91 X Sport..does this make a difference for the years that will work?

Mine does the same, I guess its a common issue. I am tall so it doesnt bother me.

Not to be offensive to anyone but are you a bigger person? I am and I know in my 94 xlt my seat frame(the bottom) had a really thin spot that broke on both the driver and passenger side I had it straightend out and welded and now they are good. However I took them out of my truck for some power leathers from a 95.

SOOOO ya know If you would like a set of tan really clean non ripped cloth seats from a 94 which will bolt right in I've got them for 150+ shipping for the front only or 240$ for the front and back , all really clean and no rips. But to answer your ? 92-01 will fit and some 91's will fit but some have different bolt patterns. All my seats are already repaired so it won't happen again and I added some extra cushion for added comfort.

P.S. for 91 owners if you use your seat tracks bolted to newer seats they should work as well.
