Hey i just got a 2002 Explorer Sport and i love it. Only thing that bothers me is the seatbelt chime. Has any one tried to disable it and if so how would i go about doing it.

Thanks Derek

Welcome!

Um, wear your seatbelt?

There should be a couple of wires going to the female of the latch. Jumper those 2 wires and the truck should always think it's latched.

Yea i usually wear my seatbelt but i dont like being reminded every 2 minutes to put it on .

just push the button release in one time and it will stop....

wow i was just getting ready to ask this question. it would be one thing if it just chimed once and you were done with it. but the damn thing just keeps going and going and going...

i got bored so i counted once. each series consists of 24 individual chimes. after 24 rings, it stops for about 30 seconds, and does it again. it will do this TWELVE times! oh the humanity!

Why would you not wear a seatbelt??? I just don't understand?

well sometimes if u need to move the car or something..like at my old appt. it was ways to the garage..but only 5mph so i would make 4 or 5 trips sometimes

tahts the only time i have been bugged by the seatbelt thing id just get pissed..latch it and sit on it lol

Your owners' manual tells you how if you'll look.

Isn't there a sequence of buckling it and unbuckling it that will shut it off. I thought I heard about that somewhere, but I don't know the sequence.
