seatbelt is stuck and wont retract.

i purchased today seats from an XLT and the middle seat has the shoulder belt. only thing is, its pulled all the way out and will not retract. its got tension but seems like something is stuck... anyone else have this problem? would love to install tonight so hopefully someone can help me out.

Try to pull the belt all the way out and then let go and see it it will retract. That feature was so that you can place a child car seat there and the belt will stay snug. If that does not work you need to get to the retractor mechanism to move the paw from the rachet wheel. Do this with the seat back in the straight up position. Not sure if it has the inertia lock mechanism in there.

it was like someone pulled the belt out so far and the mech got stuck. i ended up finding another middle seat, i tore that one apart and the internal mechanism, the piece which engages the lock had broken and wedged itself in there and thats what it was stuck on.
