Thinking about it... If it were me Id search the junk yards for the seats I wanted, and maybe a matching color if the pickins were good. Id get deep buckets from a car, like the Bimmer seats that Exploded recommended. Sit the new seats in the truck and sort of feel out how much higher you want to sit. Lets say you want to sit about 2" higher. Go to the metal mart and get you some 2x4 steel tubing, cut them to fit latterally across the holes for the seat bracket in your truck then mark and drill the holes. Set the seat on there again and mark and drill the holes for the seats. Buy some good grade 8 or 10 bolts and locknuts that will bolt it all together and you got it. For your own personal preference you can get some fender washers and shim the back or front to find the ideal height and angle you want to sit. Id put vinyl caps on the ends of the 2x4s to keep from tearing myself up on em as they will be exposed more than likely. I just dreamed this up but owning a few Rangers myself and having removed and replaced seats before in other cars (seatbacks dont like big dudes with a heavy foot) it should work. The beauty of it is that you only need a hacksaw, a drill, a couple wrenches and a measuring tape. Another thing I would consider when selecting the seats is measure from the front of the seatback (with the seat where you like it) to the back of the cab and take the measurement on the prospective seats fully extended from the same place to the top of the seatback to make sure theyll fit, you may need one with removable headrests. If the new seats bolt pattern is way smaller than the Ranger you could do the same thing but just with 1" material (still assuming were going 2" up) and bolt down a horizontal set then a lateral set on top so it looks like #. Of course none of this is DOT approved but in my estimation it would be pretty strong, just dont sue me.
