So I was driving home from work last night and everything started out fine ,its about a 60km trip and about 3/4 the way my brakes started fading pretty good and pulling, kinda started to feel like a flat, but I figured oh well close to home.

by the time I pulled into the driveway and got out to see if it was a flat and I could see the drivers side rear rotor glowing bright red.

so I def know I need a new caliper and pads and rotor, but how likely is it that I cooked the grease in the bearing?

Check the seal and see how it looks. If it shows no cooking the the bearing will be okay.

While it could be the piston that is/was seized, it could also be that the slide pin(s) were seized. Those slide pins are an often overlooked maintenance item.

But if the rotor was glowing red hot- a new caliper would probably be a good idea. And a flush. And grease the other pins while you're at it.

thanks guys, bearing didnt look bad,new caliper rotors and pads on the rear, first time ive needed brakes since i bought it,guess i should check the pins more

Just got two new rotors, pads, and now one caliper - $415. Just so you know. But oh so nice now.
