The other thread on the radio being on at startup got me noticing some other settings that aren't holding anymore
2020 XLT Radio Automatically on at Startup.

I disable the touchscreen beep [annoying, IMO] and it's been reverting to on
Audio is on at startup, even if off when shut down
Blue screen on backup camera happening more frequently

Probably unrelated, but my alarm goes off at random shortly after locking the truck. Phone app shows an attempted liftgate activation.

Hoping to get this all addressed, along with some other concerns, before my warranty is up. Just need to get our 3rd car ready to use, so I have something to drive while the dealer has my truck.

If you usually turn the radio ON after starting the vehicle then that shouldn't be a big issue although the radio should show Audio Off at startup if you had previously turned it OFF. At least that is the way my Aviator works and only makes sense. The bluescreen is being addressed via the recall and appears to require a camera replacement. Not sure about the alarm issue. There are a few others with that same problem.

Been paying a bit more attention & it seems the settings are reverting after a couple start cycles.
Backup camera delay resets to off
Touchscreen beep resets to on
Audio on at startup
Also noticed, I have no HD radio
Have had the no GPS symbol on the maps, intermittently.

As soon as my 3rd car is back on the road, I'll be getting it in for svc, this, along with a few other things, while still under warranty.

Also, got the recall letter for the backup camera, says mid Aug ETA for dealers to be ready to make the repairs.

These are Sync 3 software problems if you're on 22251, the latest version screwed everything up on thousands of Fords not just Explorers. They haven't come up with a software fix yet and some say it won't be until September at the earliest. The back camera blue screen is a separate issue and hardware recall because the previous software recall didn't work.

Interesting, I updated months ago, will have to double check my version. I think I got it from the Ford owner site [did my Expedition via CyanLabs]
This behavior is a new thing, not sure why it would've just started happening. And my truck never sees a wifi connection at home (too far from the AP for a strong enough signal).

The rwdata folder gets full in this version 22251 and it runs out of memory so you lose settings and presets. It's a matter of time before it runs out. Mine took a few months and got worse under use. I happen to not use Android Auto or Apple Carplay so I think using Ford's software fills up memory quicker than using your phone. I also use Sirius XM for audio all the time. This may have an effect on memory also.

  • Wi-Fi connections not saved.
  • Backup camera delay not working.
  • Ambient light settings are not saved.
  • Language settings are not saved.

Not listed there, I don't have HD Radio anymore & get intermittent No GPS on the Ford maps.

I have most of the above but also only bottom half the Navigation map and weather map display almost every time. Once a week or less i get a full map.

I rarely use the Ford UI, and 99% of the time am on AndroidAuto, so I don't notice some of the bugs associated with this one.
Just happened to be making a quick run to the store & didn't plug my phone in, and noticed the no GPS symbol.
I don't notice a huge difference between FM & HD Radio, just more of a "I have it & it isn't there". I listen to a local FM station morning show on my drive in to work, and Spotify on the drive home.
