Over the past few days my car has gone from working perfectly fine to functioning so terribly I'm now afraid to drive.

It started with a weird rolling noise coming from the engine, almost like you'd hear when you were driving in a tunnel. After that, my steering wheel started jerking to the right every few seconds, almost feeling like my tire was snagging on something. The sound then got progressively louder and louder, and was accompanied by a popping noise every once and a while.
Took it to O'Reilly's and they said they didn't know and to take it to the nearest mechanic and see if they could look under the car. Nearest one was closed so I went home and am going to go tomorrow morning. But on the 5 minute drive home, several more problems started. I am now getting zero resistance from my breaks, having to push it to the floor to stop at all. Then a really loud high-pitched screeching noise like you're scraping two pieces of metal across eachother.

I am illiterate when it comes to cars, and I do not trust to drive on the road anymore. Can someone please help.

Welcome to the forum!

Considering that I don't see an obvious connection between these symptoms, my best guess would be that you ran over some road debris and it has caused damage to the right front, wheel hub or bearing (or other suspension) and brake line. I wouldn't trust it to drive anywhere either, but would jack it up, put a jack stand under the frame, take the wheel off and see if anything is obviously wrong.

Sound like your front brake pads are wore out.
You probably need rotors too. Because of the noise and petal going too the floor.

We aren’t going to be able to help you much. This is really a DIY forum, and this doesn’t sound like a simple fix…you need to get your truck to someone who is going to do the repair work—in your case, a mechanic.

Welcome to the site. I would have it towed to a facility and have it inspected only because of your own knowledge of vehicles is limited. Safety is nothing to gamble with.

Your young, its probably your first car, this is the start of wrenching.
1. first pickup some 3 ton jack stands. Harbor freight.
Inspect time
2. You need to remove the two front wheels.
You can break the wheel lug nut loose with the car on the ground.
3. Lift one side of the vehicle at a time. Using your car jack. Install the jack stand under the Frame.
let the car down on the jack stand.
shake the car too check the stand.
Grab the wheel and shake it with your hands 9&3, then 12&6. Is there any play?
Next
and Remove the wheel.
4. Now take a look at the brake pads.
They should be when new at least 1/4 " thick. When they are worn they could be, nothing there to a 1/8" thick.
Start on your passenger front side first. That were the pulling started.
There are alot of videos on YouTube for are cars.
Now many miles on the vehicle?
What engine?
