SFWDA Southern Trailfest Run at Windrock Apr 30-May 2

I'd love to now that I've got a new job, but I work weekends so God only knows the next time I'll get out wheeling.

David is mike coming? I suppose we could meet up friday night. Nissanboy and I will be caravaning down on fri so i might run some trails at night with him.

I'm going to try to make Sat. I was a little worried about how bad the traffic was going to be with P1 closed in spots. Maybe coming in from the top. Did anyone else see where coal creek has backed off the charge for passengers? They now just want all to sign the waiver. I think we can live with that. Keep me posted if y'all are getting together on Friday.

Mike, see if u or david could get that jeep club to come out with us again. I think the xplorers are out numbering the jeeps this time.We got 5 so far. I think we will be alright with traffic as long as we give our selfs some time to get out before we go. Im not sure if anyone is coming with me yet and im not sure about the charge for passangers.

mat i may have to leave my junk at home... my front driveshaft gave up on me last night. Depending on how quick i can source a new used shaft i may or may not be there in my truck. But since i already payed my registration fee i will definitly be there.

If you find me a double cardon two piece front driveshaft for the Bw1354 i will give u my old front driveshaft. I still need to pay my fee. U wanna pay for mine online and i can give u the cash?

They guy that stalled his jeep out is not sure he will be able to make it. Some of the others will though. What is the registration fee for? I already have a yearly pass to ride. We could meet for supper on friday night or have a cookout at my house.

I just paid for the $29 registration fee and i also bought a yearly pass. Do they send them in the mail or do u pick em' there. By the way i registered for hard trail riding if anyone is going to do it with me.Mike? David? GJarrett? Ive been real lazy lately and i dont have enough time to do the front locker install so im taking it down to Tennessee-Offroad and there installing it for $400. I probably wont have the 1354 in because i still cant find the front driveshaft and linkage. I guess the cookout at ure house sounds good david, i really dont have any money to splurge on food at windrock. I barely have enough money for gas after the locker install. By the way Nissanboy is probably not going to be able to make because he cant get off work, but if he does he can come. So how many explorers are coming for sure now?

Man, for 400 bucks I'd almost drive to nashville to install that. It's just a powertrax right? It shouldn't take more than 2 hrs to do in the front.

Edit, quick instructions:
-Jackstands
-Lose front wheels
-disconnect upper balljoint
-yank out the half shafts (might have to disconnect tie rod to pull 'em out far enough, can't remember)
-disconnect front driveshaft
-take out 3 bolts holding in front diff and drop it out.
-install locker (easy now that it's out of the truck)
-reverse install (don't forget gear oil)

Viola! done!

I know i can do it my self in a weekend but i dont have the time and my lazyness factor just went up. Also most of my friends are busy and i cant get anyone to lend a helping hand. If u want to help me i could pay your gas and stuff matt.Probably be cheaper than paying tennessee-offroad.

I will probably just have TOR do it. They can get it done in a couple hours. Im doing my t-case swap anyways myslef and ill do that after the trailfest. A place to work on my truck has also been an issue. Im slowly being forced out of the garage. Might have to do it in the driveway.Where has time gone, only 10 more days till trailfest! By the way jasonb are you going to plan on being up there?

nah.. i'll be out of town that weekend. i wish i could though! i've been wanted to get up to windrock for a while now. if your balljoints are anywhere near bad, it would be a good idea to get them replaced while you have at least one side of the front apart if you decide to do it yourself.

Looks like I may not be able to make it Bad tcase, overheating, just bought a fixer-upper house, and just four weekends before Moab..... If I cannot get a refund I might be willing to sell my three day registration, pass, meals, and tshirt (I already signed up and paid for) if anyone is interested....
