i hope this is the right place for this. my truck didnt shake at all before now after the new tires speedo reading about 58mph it shakes real bad. im thinking its a wheel not balanced right, but could it be something else in relation to just the larger tires? just kinda want to get the facts down before i take it back. thanks

Yup, sounds like a tire(s) out of balance. Those cheap weights get thrown alot when the lazy kid in the shop doesn't crimp down the weight properly. Take your X back to where you had the tires put on and tell them the problem they should re-balance it for free. The only other thing that can cause wheel vibration that I can think of in your case is if you went off-roading and got alot of mud or something packed into the backside of the wheel this un-balances your wheel and gives you the "shimmy-shaking" at higher speeds. I get it alot when getting snow packed up in there :D.

Did you get the truck aligned after installing the suspension lift? After most susp lifts you have to.

But if the problem came up right after the new tires, it's probably the balancing.

yeah i had it aligned after the lift, the gut said he couldnt get it perfect but after the coils settled it would be fine. i did notice when i had it jacked up to put tires on the pass side bowed in alot but straightened out after i let it down. does that seem right? also the center caps came with rubber gaskets on them i left them there. oh only the back ones fronts didnt have them. should i have removed them

Hey..
I just went from a 17 inch to 20 inch tire. They were balanced and alighned accordingly.. but when I hit around 78 It wobbles like yours probably does. The only thing the wheel place said, is that it could be the lack of center caps. Are center caps that important or will I be fine without them?
