Shaking problem...

So i posted a while back that my truck (04 mountaineer v8) would sort of shake while sitting at a red light. This has happened about three times in the last year. Now all of the sudden my "check engine soon" light went on and i've also noticed that while driving that it shakes every now and then

Description of the "shaking": you know when you're on cruise control and you push the "-" button to slow down? Thats the feeling but it does it it like three to four time really fast. Shifting is ok.

Also, i was driving it with the ac on today and the temp gauge started dropping-yes dropping. I turned it off and it went back to normal. What is that???

Since your check engine light is on, I would start by getting the code(s) read. Usually the local auto parts stores do this for free. Post up your code(s) and we can go from there!

Update: i forgot wht the code was but it's some kind of valve that regulates gas/exhaust output or something like that. The part is aroind $100- not too bad thank god

Sounds like it was the EGR Valve that got stuck closed. Glad you figured it out!

Update #2: temp gauge dropping

Some little cone shaped spring that has a wax seal had to be replaced. Something to do wirj regulating heat/cold air
