Ok guys someone wanted to know about my shaved handle on the hatch and how, and if I did relocate it to the inside of the vehicle. Anyways just wondering who would be interested in a how to: thread on this. Since Ive already done the mod it will be hard to do it step by step but I will take it apart and do my best..... So if ur interested reply! thanks!

thatd be cool but you couldnt get anything open lol. make a thread about it though, id like to see.

+1. It would be so cool to see a step by step procedure of this. Do it with lots of pictures!

do it bro, we all are eager to see it done with a step by step

Go for it!!!!!!!!!!

i would definately be interested in doing something like that to my xplo

I did this almost 4 years ago....my pics are dated 2/17/05....

It's not very hard to SHAVE the hatch. It IS difficult to make it still work 100%.

where are they?

They are on my computer...

I am very open with MOST of my mods, but like a great magician.....I can't reveal ALL my secrets...

I have shaved the Rear Hatch, and was able to flip the T-handle to the interior. Put the glass latch on a 15 lb. pull solenoid, and open it via remote.

If I want to get into the back, press the button on the remote, pop the glass....reach in, twist the T-handle, and open the hatch.

Easy to do once the mechanicals are figured out.

I'm always up for reading a how-to of any thread.

Especially now that I'm on the "upside" of things, meaning not as many expensive things need to be fixed on the Explorer.. Meaning I can REALLY start getting into modifications.

DAM! why couldn't you have done this about 3 months ago! i just finished my 98. i built a roll pan for it, and wanted to get a older gate and try this, but didn't realy have time to. it would have made the back end look sooooooooooo clean!

do you have a how-to on replacing the stock subwoofer on a 93 ford explorer josh?

seth028751087523-7520-386-2398209847r-38 or whatever his name is on here, sent me a text message saying "so uh, josh, if i wanted to replace the stock subwoofer how would i go about doing that?"

i texted back with "i just bought the plane ticket. see you in a few hours"
