I got in my explorer the other day and when I put it in gearcthe shift lever bracket broke.
I bought a New one and while cutting the old piece out of my column. I broke the ring piece that hooks to the back end of the bracket repair piece, the end with the teeth , and fits just behind the snap ring that holds the whole deal in place.
Can someone be kind enough to tell me what this piece is called?
It looks like a diamond ring and the round bulb on the end of it slides into the gear indicator on the column.
My vehicle is a 2004. Ford explorer v6 2wd with column shifter
