shift motor fixed itself

I was ready to crawl under the frame and take out and clean my shift motor after it stop working in December, but low and behold its back. High Low in-out just as good as new. Any suggestions as to what I could do to keep it that way. Like use it every day for a week or so, get under there and spray it with a sealant, hit it a few times with a bal-pin hammer? I would hate to have it go just when I need it in a foot of snow.

Just keep trying to use it on a regular basis to keep it from freezing up again.... You still may want to get under there and clean the contacts.... an ounce of prevention = a pound of cure!
