shifter ext. for 3" BL

Am i absoultely needing the shifter ext. cuz someone was telling me i could go without it but i want to get this lift done so is it possible i could install the shifter ext later or is it not driveable without it.

I don`t know if you can drive without it, I think it would hit the sides of the hole.

Trail Master # 40124

-3-inch extension, also works well for 2 inch bl`s, I couldn`t find a 2 inch extension anywhere...

You can see the extension in the pic (this was from my 2 inch bl), the problem you might have is from the bend in the stock shifter, it will probably hit the metal in 2nd ,4th, and rev. The extension lifts it all up before the bend. I imagine your 91 is similiar to mine.
A tip if you use the trail master extension; put some threadlocker on the screw that holds it in place, it will loosen on you otherwise.

hold up!!! i JUST bought the ext. and didn't need it because i made my own shifter, becasue i put a stick in a 2nd gen. but anyways i tried returning it and my local 4x4 store won't take it back. i have not opened it yet. you can have it, i was just waiting to find someone who needs it. just pay for shipping and its yours

that is luck! i had to pay like $38 for my shifter ext......hey, tat you didnt get that from sport truck usa did you? i have been having problemns with them lately.

they were a little condecending at my thoughts of a lifted ex...not rude but kinda like "why?" then, they never know what part i need and when i try to help them find out, its like twice what everyone else on the board is paying.....ie they wanted 79.99 for coil spacers! they are nice people, just talk down to me and my truck sometimes...depends on who you get. the one guy wont even talk to me!

like i said the one guy is cool, the other is an @$$. the one i delat with last time i went in was awesome, he even told my lady they didnt carry steps because he knows i dont want one and she does. he has an old chevy, if i remember right, and he was in the middle of doing a D44/D60 swap on it....never got his name. unfortunately he is also the one that doesnt know what i need.

do me a favor and dont say anything to them because i dont want to get one of them mad, i just like to be treadted better.
