Shifting Problems

I did do a seach for my problems but none of them answered my questions. I have a 91 explorer AT, the tranny will not shift into 2nd at first. If you drive it for a distance (2MI or so) it shifts fine for the rest of the day. If it sits for awhile it goes right back to doing it again. The modulator appears to be ok, no fluid in the line, Ive changed the filter twice, fluid level is fine. everyone keeps talking about these solenoids that they're replacing. Does this sound like the problem I could be having. Also I thought of doing doing a tranny flush. does this seem like a good idea? please let me know.

probably you need to replace your transmission...mine wouldnt shift like that and i had to replace mine...but i wont recommend it till you get it checked out by th pros
