I am now a big fan of KYB Monotube Gas shocks. Previously had Bilsteins, which are great shocks, but had to replace because one of the shocks sprung a leak. The Bilsteins actually are a beefier shock, but like I say one of them busted with normal everyday driving. I decided to try the KYB's because I have used them in a couple of suspension rebuilds with my muscle cars, (they came with the kit packages). They work every bit as good as the Bilsteins, for less money. Just my two cents.

A Bilstein shock broke?? That would be a rare event. I used them for 5-6 years without any problem and they were an awesome shock. Unfortunately they didn't make any to fit my X after it was lifted and so I'm running a custom Rancho setup in my X. By the way Bilstein's have a lifetime warranty..

I beat the crap out of my Bilstein 5150s on my ranger. 75,000 miles and 5 years and they work great. Monotube shocks are always better than dual tube, better heat dissapation.

IMO Bilstien are well worth the money if you need the performance.

Yep the shock blew a seal. I didn't beat the piss out of it. Just giving you my first hand experience. Didn't say they were bad, it's just when something happens with one brand and not with another, I go with my first hand experience. Like I said, just my two cents.

monroe sensa-trac. I perfer the cheaper model that has a constant bound/rebound, but the monroe sensa trac is a good ride.

How come you didn't return it for their lifetime warranty repair?
