shocks after lift or before

im putiing on a 2" skyjacker tomorrow and a 3" bl soon after. i know i dont need longer shocks with the 2" lift and im pretty sure i will after the bl is on. my question is can i put longer shocks on before the bl lift is on and if so any quick suggestions on how much longer shock ill need

You won't need longer shocks with the BL as it only raises the body, and not anything else. The chasis which the shocks connect too will remain the same height.
