How do I know if I need 'em? I have a '94 EB 4 Dr, I've had it for 2yrs (from 70k to 90k, now) and the front end has never been right. I've read all of the posts and I've changed the radius arm bushings, motor mounts, wheel bearings, tires, brakes rotors and shocks, done wheel alignments and balances. A mechanic friend says that the front end is "bouncy". We walked around his Ford dealership and checked the front end of a couple of other 92-94 Explorers and they were all stiffer, I forgot to check their spring codes but mine is W U. These Rancho 5000's have about 20k on them now (I don't know if it is any more bouncy then when the shocks were new). The ride height looks right but he says that doesn't mean the springs are good.
I've got the wheel hop and after shake, and the 60mph shake. I'm tired of experimenting by spending money. Does anybody have any ideas on the springs or know of a good mechanic on Long Island?
I appreciate the help.
