Dude at Summit Racing is recommending KYB's to me Part numbers KYB-341302 and KYB-344269, I see most of you have bilesteins or the Rancho 5000's. What do you think of KYB? I saw from a search that one guy liked them on his Tahoe but Im curious if were talking about the same part numbers.

This truck has about 135k miles on it. Would I really notice the difference between ANY other shocks and my stock ones? Sometimes I read that people swear there is a huge difference on certain mods and then when I do them I don't notice anything. I've had this experience with other vehicles, not the sport trac because I haven't done anything to it yet.

I'm doing the TT. Thats it for now but I do intend to get the body lift soon too and I'm concerned about excessive leaning when Im cornering. This truck doesn't go off road much, Im a big wimp really.

I might be the one that you're talking about with the KYBs on our Tahoe. I did like them but I don't know part numbers for the ST. Had Bilsteins on it before those and quite honestly they were similar feeling to the KYBs. Maybe slight edge to the KYBs but that could be because they were directly compared to the worn Bilsteins. The Tahoe was mostly on road but it was lifted a little and had 33" ATs and did get used as our camping and small adventure vehicle.

The Bilsteins my brother in law had on his hard used '09 Jeep didn't fare well and he complained about them although I don't remember his specific gripes. I'd ask if he wasn't on his honeymoon right now. I know he replaced them fairly quickly.

The stock shocks were not very good to begin with. You will certainly feel an improvement.

I've got Bilstein 5100s so I could have a lot longer travel offroad but IMHO I think they are a little soft for road driving. I liked the Monroe Max-airs I had on the rear but again think my monroe sense-tracs were a little soft for the road as well. In the shocks' defense I prefer a firm ride on the road and like it softer and smoother offroad.
