I have a 1991 Explorer with 240,000 miles. I have pulled the engine to replace oil pan gasket. I am also replacing other gaskets. I have been told I should replace the oil pump with a high volume pump while the engine is out. Apparently I can not get a HV pump for the V6. Should I go ahead and replace the stock pump? What advice does anyone have for me? Can anyone recommend one brand of oil pump over the other?
