Side to side height adjustment

I just purchased a honestly garage kept, over maintained '91 2wd Eddie Bauer with 65k miles owned the typical "little old lady from Pasadena". Actually it was a very large old retired guy in Fort Myers, Florida. This thing is darn near showroom condition. The only problem(s) found so far appear to be caused by the guys excessive weight. Obviously the drivers seat is a little flat, the stearing wheel and driver's running board were a bit tweaked (since resolved). The only other problem is that the side to side height is about 1/2" off. Does anybody have any adjustment suggestions for this. I would like to avoid new springs on all corners at this time although it would be a good excuse for a lift in the future.

Maybe you could swap the driverside and passenger coils on the front?

I have a '91 EB 4x4 with the same problem. The previous owner was a rather small person though. I don't think the size of the guy is what caused yours to lean. Many others have brought up this same topic as well. One theory is because the fuel tank is on the driver's side.
I switched the front coils from side to side to see if it was a wear issue. It didn't make any difference at all. I would still like to resolve the problem so please post a fix if you find one.

Thanks guys, I have had the thing for less than a week and did not even notice the fuel tank was on the drivers side.

Scott, when you switched the coils in the front did you do the rear springs also? Just curious as the drivers rear has sagged more that the drivers front. Which might make sense depending on where the tank is hung.

Thanks my friend, you've given me an excuse to break out the tools. I have recently thought about having the left rear leaves re-arched a little to compensate but for some reason switching didn't occur. I will try this ASAP and let you know.

There are plates available from some of the lift companies,(skyjacker,superlift, that fit under the front springs to compensate for differences in ride height from side to side. You might check on some of them. And I do know that some of the rear springs on the earlier explorers are prone to sacking.

I just left another message regarding the results of lifting my '97 Sport. One of the things I found in the process was the rear, driver's side sat 1 1/2" lower then the passenger's side. I think the combination of having the fuel tank on that side and my Sport only having one leaf caused the sag. I think if the weight would have been spread across several leafs, it wouldn't have affected it as much.
