Hi Folks,

My side-view power mirror kind of fell apart (driver's side). The "mirror" part fell off the.. well, whatever you call what's left on the vehicle.

Advice please: can this be put back together (I get it to attach, but then if I try to move it with the motors it will eventually fall off), or am I just being cheap and should go get a replacement? ;)

Thanks

I'd just get a complete replacement assembly.. Its more of pita in my opinion to try and repair one vs getting a replacement.

x2. You can get a replacement for 30ish on ebay.

Wherever you get one, I would advise to get to get an OEM one.

I think Hokie bought a non-OEM one on eBay, and was no happy with the unit.

Check with IZwack, I know he's parting out a Gen 2 and I think there are at least a couple others who are parting theirs out as well.

We also have a vendor on this site that has a bunch of Gen 2's in a salvage yard that he is parting out.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Hey thanks for the advice, all.

I took a quick look on ebay and found one for pretty cheap, so I'll give that a shot. It'll be nice to just have a mirror there at all... I keep looking at it, expecting it to be there!

Great forum. There's an amazing amount of knowledge tucked away here!

When I accidentally busted mine, I ended up buying an (expensive OEM) replacement, just because I couldn't stand it being there, and wanted a mirror, and didn't want to wait for one from ebay.
