Just wanted to say I've enjoyed my ex and the help I got on here.
I'll drop by now and then to see what you guys have done to your ex's!
My new ride: No mods yet but plenty to come. 4.7 V8 D35rear D30 Front

Why you dumping the Ex for a Heep?

Why u asking me a question like that?
I like Jeeps, I've had several.
But it's my choice, nothing against the ex.

Good luck w/ that. If it's a 99-01 watch that front drive shaft. Rear axles too are a pain w/ those, they have a pressed on bearing/seal but I've always liked those trucks..time to go find a Jeep board now :)

I was just curious if your ex blew up or something. Gr. Cherokee was my second choice behind Ex/Mounty's.

from the pics it looks like an 03-04. 99-02 iirc had 4x4 badges on the rear quarter panels, in 03 they moved it to the rear lift gate.

Thank you, it's an 02. I've been a member at the Jeep forum for quite a while. I've owned a few Jeeps over the years. Hopefully the axles and bearings will hold up, nothing new though everything I have ever owned had something break, including 2 wheel bearings on the ex.

o0

So did you sell the X or trade it in?

Traded it in, I'll miss it but I'm notorious for trading around on vehicles. I'm at about 6 in 2 years! Ex sport trac, 2 land rovers, chevy avalanche, CJ, the 02 ex and now the Grand cherokee!

what kind of mods u planning on doing to ur jeep

Basically off road stuff, lift, tires, locker.
Just takes a while as I have money. It's a pretty common set up so it wont take much.

Dear Lord!

Im more shocked that you owned a chevy than the 6 cars .. haha :D:D:D
I've always liked jeeps tho.

Im hoping to run the X till it dies. The only thing i dont like is that it is an Auto. Im so into the habit of driving a stick that when i zone out while driving i actually shift with a cup in the cupholder. Haha

Its quite hilarious.

I loved your Explorer! It was probably one of my favorite on here, it was so clean. Good luck with the Jeep.

I thought it had a D44 Aluminum rear.

Man not long after you posted that I got the build sheet from Chrysler, and you're right it's the upgrade for the Laredo with D44 and 3.73 gears. Thats really good news!

Haha! I did the same thing after years of driving a stick. whats funny now is I grab for the shifter up high by the steering wheel when it's now on the console.

Thank u, i loved it too. I'm looking forward to seeing if RB can make that skid and rizer lift work. I'm not ruling out another ex in the future!

Haha!

Old habits die hard i guess.
Im not too big on auto shifters on the console. The shifter on the X is in the perfect position. Use it as a hand rest and i can reach the radio perfectly while my hands resting on it. One of those small things that make me love it.

Good luck with the Jeep tho. Always liked them.

oh man this sucks, youll be a legend here. RB's explorer and yours is what made me want to do the things that i did to mine. im going to miss you and your ex. good luck

BTW- do you got the rack that you made for the top?

A legend! Haha thats halarious. I still miss the ex, I put quite a bit of time and money in it. I compare it now while driving the Jeep, they both have pros and cons. I love the straight axles, my options for lifting and ability to flex will be good. The ex had more room inside.
This forum is the sole reason for my mods to the ex. Keep doing it man!
Yeah I kept the rack and it will be on the Jeep soon, I'm hunting a better clamp system first instead of the aluminum hose clamps.
