Silver Lake Dunes

Hey Guys.
We had our run to SIlver Lake dunes today. The weather couldn't have been better and the dunes were a ton of fun. I did identify that if you cram P265/70R16 tires ona stock truck they WILL rub. There were many washboard areas where the front end would maybe almost get air, then come crashing down, forcing the tires to scrape the top of the front wheel wells. Luckally i did not break anything. Today proved to me how durable a ford truck really is.

michiganlander, i heard you overheated your tranny? lol that sux. i saw the pics of the toyota towing you. im goin up there in 2 wks with my 96 with a fairly new tranny. but im gonna have a cooler on it by then

Oh man, i'm sorry to hear that. i have my midterms this week. I actually onle have one, since i took the other 2 during the last week or two. Anyway mike, the dunes close on the 31st so I guess we will plan on going in the spring. Good luck on those midterms!

Ok, let us know how it all goes. I will be going the last time on the 27th if it's done and you want to test out the new stuff then.
Also I take it the tranny flush didn't solve the problem and it's waiting for a rebuild tranny? Did you ever locate a rebuilt unit?
