I dont know if i am not searching right, or if I just dont know what I am looking for but we just picked up an 05 eddie bauer with the factory 6 disk headunit.

We just want to get a plug to attach the ipod using the AUX button. I dont care about controlling it, charging it, or anything else. just plug it in and listen to music, i have a car charger and a finger to spin the wheel on the ipod.

Everyone i have talked to wants to sell me a $200 kit that wont even work with the 6-disk.. I know there is a simple headphone jack style input that will go into the back of that stocker.

Thanks

Did you ever solve this? I have the same vehicle and i am looking to do the same thing. i have an un-used aux and sat button and would like to know my options for connecting an ipod to the stock radio via headphone jack.

Is there an aux jack on the back of my stock 2003 Mountaineer 6 disk player for xm connection?

I've been using the AUX inputs at the rear dvd. RCA females on the roof next to the video input. Select AUX, not VIDEO on the HU. It's a quick fix if ya don't mind the 2 wires hanging from ceiling... Headphone out on iPod to the 2 RCAs on the roof.
Korey

P.S. it's NOT the best way, merely A way. Good luck.

No, but you may be able to use a PIE FRDN-AUX interface adaptor to get RCA inputs to plug your XM/iPod/whatever into. I was able to do so on my '03 Mounty, and it sounds awesome.

Those usually work FRDN-AUX is for 98-2003 for sure (some '04 with World Plugs).

In '05 check the back of the radio, are the plugs black (world plugs) or grey (phase II)? Big difference.

If your phaseII (grey) the FRDN-AUX will not work, but the FRD03-AUX might.

If black plugs the FRDN-AUX should work.

One guy said 'everyone said it wouldn't work but it did' his was an '03 i believe.

Another guy tried but failed. . . not sure what the difference was. . .just a heads up.
