transmission pan?

Ummm...Yeah...I am totally confused as to what you are looking for. Please clarify and we will be glad to help.

If you're talking about an overflow reservoir, like there is for coolant, there is none. The transmission pan, which holds about half the fluid of the transmission, is located driectly under the tranny.

yeah like he said^ the pan will look just like the oil pan only further back on the car. Just get under the car and look for the oil pan, the go towards the rear of the car from there and you should run into it. If you are looking to add fluid, put a funnel in the dipstick tube and pour it in there.

that is all I am trying to do.....just add fluid....which dipstick is it ....again I apologize for being an idiot with respect to explorers.....

It is the dipstick on the passenger side of the engine near the firewall (back of the engine compartment) marked "Trans Fluid". Hope that helps. Oh ya, make sure you use Mercon III automatic transmission fluid.

Umm....I don't have a pic on my website that it shows up in. :( Look to the passenger side of the engine and there should be a dipstick over there for the fluidd. It usually says "transmission" on it.

As far as getting the level correct it should be operating temperature, ideling in park, and on a level surface.

thanks guys....I just went out to the truck and found it....again, sorry for the dumb question

Good. Glad you found it. Snowcross types faster than I do. :( :p

What can I say, I'm good. I even went out to check under the hood of my 94 to see exactly what it said on the dipstick :D

Oh, and no need to apologize. Glad you figured out what you needed to know.

I don't have a 94, but I did look through my website for a pic of my old ranger. LOL :D

Check to see if your owners manuel says check fluid leve while running in park and reached operating temps. dont overfil. I would suggest going to a auto store and getting a repair manual for your 94 I have an idea it would be useful to you And it was not a stupid question

Don't worry about questions you ask on here. The only "stupid" question is the one you don't ask. Some may critisize questions that you ask because they "know everything" but most people on here are willing to help out.
