I hope I am not repeating a topic but I find the forum search almost useless. Has any one had any luck finding skid plates for a 3rd Gen Explorer?
I recently got my first taste of off-roading in Colorado. Boy am I hooked. That very next day I started looking online for lift kits for my 2003 XLS. You can imagine my utter disappointment when I found out it can't be done without a major investment and some fancy engineering. I am starting to realize I should have bought an older Explorer. Oh well I thought I still have decent clearance with my 255/70R16 tires. I just need to protect against the occasional rock. Unfortunately I can't find any skid plates for it.
I love Explorers and Ford Trucks in general, but it Ford doesn't get its act together on a off road capable small to mid size truck, I might get a (gasp) jeep.
