skyjacker 1.5"-2.0"

Okay, I know this has probably been said before, but, my parents went to order the skyjacker 2" lift today because they thought it was only $169.99. Well after they get off the phone they say it will be $350 because the guy said what I originally wanted didn't come with shocks. I always thought that stock shocks were good enough with the lift and you really did not need to get new ones. I told my parents this and they don't believe me because I am not a mechanic or have experience I guess. They told me to post on here and ask. So, do we really need to get the whole kit--new coils, AAL, and shocks-- or can we just get the new coils and AAL? Thanks a bunch. Its kinda funny how my parents are making me post this.

You can get just the coils and the add-a-leaf, rears shocks will be plenty long, fronts might need a stud extender, but could be fine.

I am a mechanic.... The stock shocks should be fine....

I am running the stock shocks on my daily driver w/ this 2" lift and it is fine. If you are going to be doing alot of wheeling then you may go ahead and get the extended shock. You will be just fine w/ stock though.

I have this lift also on my daily driver. The rear shocks will be fine. The front shocks might or might not. My stock shocks were maxed out at the final ride height. I ordered new longer shocks for the front. I also had to order new extended brakelines because the stock ones were too short at full droop. If you dont remove your front swaybar or do much wheeling then you wont need the new brakelines. Hope this helps.

I have the same lift

I have the exact same lift. All It was was 2 new coils, and 2 add a leafs. I needed 2 front shocks, because the stock ones were maxing out. I also needed new brake lines, so at full aticulation they wouldnt snap. I am sixteen too, and went through the same thing that you did. The lift actually game me 3" for about 6 months, and then settled to 2.5". After i put on 32x11.5x15 BFG Mud's on there, it is now lifted like 5", and i am very happy. With that lift and some good tires, there isnt much that can stop you. I havent gotten stuck since it got it in september! Have fun.

Small steps will work just fine

I popped for the $700 Rancho suspension kit. It came with coils, radius arms, add-a-leaf, and all the "fixin's." I am glad I went with this kit, because after all of these years (since '97), my drop brackets haven't bent, and nothing has broken or cracked like I've seen happen on other guys lifts. I have almost 3" of suspension lift, combined with 1.5" of coil spacer height, and a 2" body lift. Plenty to clear 33" treads! Here's a picture of the whole setup...

How expensive are coil spring spacers, and how do they install. I want to get about 1-1.5" of more lift W/ coil spaceres and shackles Thanks man. How did u get the picture onto the post, i cant do that.

I was just wondering how much, if any, did you have to trim to fit the 32s? Was it just the skyjacker kit that you needed to fit them or do you have a body lift too? Thanks man, now I just need to save some money for 32s cause I've decided to run them instead of 31s.

It was a wise choice of you to go with the 32''s. I just have 2 questions, how wide are they, and what year of x do u have?. my 32's are 11.5 wide and a 1993. I only had to trim the front rocker panel piece, that is about 6" long. Just take it off, and cut most of the side that faces the tire, leave room for the screw. Mine only rub when i turn very sharp, and while going over a bump. I dont have a bodylift, so they will fit with miniaml trimming.
