Debating on a Skyjacker or Superlift system for the 93.
Two of the off-road shops here recommend only lifting an Explorer 2-3 inches; another suggests up to 4" but only if the Skyjacker system is used.
The 93 is used whenever we go skiing or rafting which requires a seven hour road trip almost every weekend. Serious offroad use or flood missions such as those last summer are with a surplus Mog.
Thinking of putting on ProComp 31x10.50x15's or 32's whichever lift is installed. Any larger and the performance might become too poor.
Your insight and suggestions are eagerly anticipated.
Thanks, Bob

I have a 4" skyjacker class II kit on my 93, I am quite happy with. Rides and drives great on the road, we routinely make longer road trips with it our families are three hours away one way. We also take it to southern VA and NC two or three times a year, a 11 hour trip. I don't abuse it to bad off-road thats what the pickup is for. But it easily takes what-ever we put it through. My biggest problem has been the drop brackets for the front axle, the are designed to work with either skyjakers 4" or 6" system. since I am running the 4" springs the hang slightly below the axle and tend to snag the trail on occasion (you could cut them of but I may want more lift in the future). The class II includes extended radius arms, which I would suggest whatever lift you decide to go with. I have driven/riden in both the extended arms give a much better ride. Enjoy your project however you decide to go.

I would go with the 6" Skyjacker! I have had it on my truck with no problems at all. I would go ahead and go large do to you will wish you did. Just like slug is wanting a larger lift in the future. I have skyjacker and superlift and like the skyjacker alot more, I do like the superlift to though. They are both great lifts. Just go big from the get-go.

You guys are crazy... if there was a 5 foot lift... someone on here would buy it. :)

naw someone just needs to make an out of the box Explorer that will take 38.5's without rubbing and we would be happy. :)

38.5's without rubbing (was Sky vs. Super)

Thanks Ryan, Nick, Brian, And Slug.
Four inches will be the max. If more is needed the surplus truck comes out of the backyard. Four inches will allow adequate clearance while not requiring a step ladder for 'she who must be obeyed' to access the truck.
Now for those of you wanting ever larger tires and lifts;
the Mog will take tires from a Duece and a half. The K-9
can walk under and only duck his head to clear the frame.
Can you say 22" clearance? Of course that's with poor cab space, noise, heat in the summer and the lack of same in winter (no AC), etc.
Have a great day, Bob
