I'm experiencing what seems like the transmission is slipping under moderate-heavy acceleration. It's almost like the Auto 4WD is trying to grab, but the tires aren't spinning. Also, periodically, if I let up on the gas, and then apply it again, the transmission slams. My dealer is of no help unless a part has actually fallen off the truck and I have it in my hand!! Any suggestions to what it is or how to fix it? Or is this just common-place and I should deal with it?

I've been dealing with it for 2 years. My SCT flasher helped a lot but the tranny is still sloppy at times.

What's a SCT flasher?

its a performance enhancer that allows you to tailor the engine fuel curves and tranny setting... its a power tuner if that makes sense

I took my truck in to the dealer for the recall on the rear window shocks. After they shattered my window (long story), they found an update on Ford's Oasis site. Ford stated that there is a problem with the computer program, and instructs the dealer to update my ECM. This has solved my transmission/engine problem 100%.

My complaint is that it cost me $75 for them to fix it now that it's out of warranty. Even though I had the same problem, documented by a certified Ford Dealer when it was under warranty, Ford refuses to pay, even though they admit to the problem. I found that unethical.....

Hope this helps someone out there.
