i believe the stock fog bulb is a 899, however, 893 is what size the euro xenon ones come in. most people have used the xenon 893 bulbs and havent had a problem from what i remember.
For those who need an 899 bulb, the 9005 or 9006 will _NOT_ fit. The 899 base is way smaller than the 9000 series. Some of the newer fog lamps use a 9145 bulb, and you can modify a 9005 to fit there. What I did find was that the 899s in my '01 XLT are actually H1s in an adapter of some type. Haven't had to replace a bulb yet, but I believe I can get an H1 to work.
for people with the round fogs from 99-01, can use the 9005 bulbs with a little modification. modification of the taps involves a little filing. for people with the rectangular fogs, i dont know if you can put silverstars in.
