92 Explorer XLT 4x4 4dr.
Question:
I'm a new member to this forum, I have a 92 explorer XLT 4x4 5 speed. I've had the truck for a year now but have always been unhappy with it's steering. I't too sloppy, I mean there is a lot of play in the neutral position. Has anyone come accross this before and if so what do you recomend for corrective action?
I appriciate any guidance.
Thanks, Mike

welcome to the site? what kind of slop? are the ball joints good? tie rods? rack and pinion?

Good questions, I don't have "Rack & Pinion", It's a 92 and I believe that was before the Rack & Pinion came out. As for the ball joints and tie rods, I've had teh truck in to two defferent shops for the frount end alignment and both the Ford dealer and an independent shop didn't metion a thing about the condition of the frount end equipment.
Any other thoughts ?
Thanks, Mike
