Hey guys, jus tin teh past 2 days when my heat is on, I get this smell (not strong) that reminds me of bruning antifreeze :fire: (reminds me of a friends old Mercury sable that had burned atifreeze come out of the vents). I wante dto know if anyone knew if that was possible, what the problem could be and a possible fix? I assume that something is trapped in the system, but I want to clea it out.

Sounds like the heater core is getting ready to go or has already. Have you noticed the carpet being wet or anything, I'd poke around under there and see if its leaking.

Hmm, I'll check when I have time in th next few days when I drive it. But it just started when I drove across home to Boston from the other side of the state for thanksgiving. The smell seems exactly like my friends old car with antifreee leakage problems, so it sort of worries me, but I haven't veer seen a problem like that on this forum before. It's only with the heat on though, so the heater core seems to go along with the symptoms so far.

Run it in the defrost position & see if it deposits a film of coolant on the w/s.

Keep the windows cracked to keep from getting sick.

Could also the smell of mouse urine (no Joke) hapenned in my GMC a few yrs back, the critters built a nest in the heating duct
