Changing T-case fluid. Thought I read that I must take off the damper weight and the drain is in back. Get under truck, see a drain / fill ? plug on the upper right side that does NOT require that I take off anything.

Searched here, read my lame-o Haynes book, no dice.

So, which is it boys and girls?

THe dynamite technique is looming.

There are two plugs on the back of the xfer case.

If you have the dampner installed it is covering the 2nd plug.

One plug is low.. (drain plug).. other plug is higher up (fill plug) but they are both on the back.

Here is the back of the T-case. The Upper fill on the left is easy to see, but the drain on the right is a little dark.

Thanks

Great Pix. I will have to take off the counter weight to get at the fill in order to change the fluid. I will be changing to all synth.
