Its a third party warranty, and it covers 60 bucks an hour labour (its gunna be 75/hr where i bring it)

she has 163,000 kilometers on the clock, i'm the second owner. right now shes in the process of getting stuff approved to have my A/C fixed and it will be upgraded to the newer system.

what should i look at getting replaced as well? I'm basically gunna take it to the shop and say if they see anything they think they can justify replacing to go ahead and do it. but if i had a lil list of things for them to focus on it would greatly help.

thanks guys,

leo

I would have the front end checked out real close, vavle covers, radiator, plugs and wires, and last but not least the brakes:frustrate

Definitaley get the Transmission checked out.

Also have the core plugs checked on the engine block, as those seem to fail around your kms.

Also have the battery cables checked for corrosion starting inside the cable itself.

cool, i'll definitely have these added to the list.

how can you check to see if a tranny is going to fail if otherwise it shifts well?

Might also want to check the wheel bushings, mine went out at about 100k miles..Also, is it a 4x4? Might wanna check and see if the auto-hubs are still engaging if it is.

TwoToneX now that you brought it up, and since the ball is rolling, yes she is a 4x4 and I've noticed that when I engae the 4x4 it works fine (i swear the X goes in tank mode, you can just feel it being ready for action) when I turn it off its like it takes a little bit before shes actually out of 4x4.

like last night it was snowing out, (yes in april!!!) and i had to use the 4x4 high. once i turned it off the light goes off right away but if i floored it, she certainly wasnt in 2wd.

she stays like that till i drive her a bit more. its like she works herself out of it. i dunno.

Question on newer system

"A/C fixed and it will be upgraded to the newer system"

Not much of a suggestion but in need of one.

Sister have a '93 2WD and planning to upgrade A/C System. What's involved on the process, I mean what are the parts needed to upgrade to new system?. Thanks.

Mine does the same thing when disengaging out of four wheel drive:D

what i'm getting done is a rebuilt compressor, orfice tube, my clutch assembly was still good and then as far as i know thats about it. if i were to pay for it all myself to get the guys to install it, it should cost about 1100 bucks taxes in CANADIAN. thats labour and everything, the system charged blah blah blah.

take it to some AC guys so they can see whats still good that they can re-use. :)

Thanks lbrowne. I know for sure that sis is going to need a rebuilt or new compressor too because at the end of last summer old one jammed completely (inside and clutch) and had to change it for another not good one just to keep the belt in place and running. Good luck in your upgrade and everything else.

So anyone else's X do this once you disengage the 4x4? is it normal?
