Well thething is why most people dont FIND mods for their explorers that will work is because they only look for what is readily available in kit form for our trucks. Like Kenne Bell doesnt offer a twin screw charger for the 5.0 explorer but they offer one for the 5.0 stang. And the only difference in fitment betwen the two is the length of the compressor drive nose shaft. So some custom machine work and you would be in there with a KB. If i would have known then what i know now i would have gotten a KB and not been sooo afraid to not try a kit form supercharger. Like being that KB no longer offers the twin screw for my engine (technically) i will just have to order one for the GT stang and if need be modify it for my truck. But since i plan on going with cobra parts too so i might just wait and order the Kenne Bell charger for the 03 cobra. And then if any nose fitment issues come up i can have a special length drive nose fabricated for it if need be. Either way most superchargers arent just a merely drop in thing no matter what they may make you think. I know when i installed my Powerdyne XB-1A charger i had to grind a little metal off of the left valve cover to clear the charger head unit and quite a few other things had to be done to make it all work out and fit. I think the best advice i can give is to get to know your engine really really really well and to not be afraid. Once you get to really know our engine and all the little ins and outs that come along with it like clip sizes and wiring harness wiring stuff and so on the rest is cake from there. Then you got the advantage to really tinker if you want.
If I go with a turbo I will not need my supercharger kit for the vortech s-trim or my custom headers. Would someone on this board be interested? They are race proven and good for 600 hp.

well there are a lot of parts out there you just have to know where to find them. our explorer has a vortech supercharger with a custom brackets and custom headers which is where we make most of our power is in on our truck. my brother's truck is a 10 sec daily driver and would like to go a 9 sec just because we can. i would not drive a low 12 sec explorer with stock suspension because of all the axle movement. my brother's truck is great to drive but it has alot of suspention work. i recomend using a powerdyne or vortech like rocket did because they can provide the CFM you need in a healthy 5.0 . when we put the turbo on the Troll the custom headers and exhaust will be for sale as well as the blower and braket if any one is interested i can say for shure on the right setup it can go 10's in an explorer. :')

Hey Bill i might be interested in those headers. It might kick me in the butt to do another 5.0 explorer project again. But if i do the 5.0 explorer project then i cannot do the 5.0 supercharged stang project. Besides i do plan on building my 03 explorer. Well i guess it all depends on how much ya want for them. Just hit me up in PM if ya want to.
