I'm at the point after swapping a used motor to put fluids back in and fire it up. Anything I should be aware of before turning it over? I have replaced every seal and gasket I believe save the head gasket and rear seal. So i will be filling tranny, oil, coolant. Hoping AC will be fine till I get to it as long as I don't turn it on. Any heads up would be appreciated.
Of course battery has been out, but I think I read something about codes still staying resident I might wanna clear. Fuel filters are very bad looking rust wise, but I was thinking messin around with them right now might cause more issues at this point and maybe deal with it later. A flush of the coolant sys is needed for sure cause who knows how long the used block sat.

You have gone this far... Change the fuel filter(s) and check your fuel pressure BEFORE you try to start the replacement engine...If your fuel pressure is too low, the engine will not start or if it does start run like crap...

Flushing the residual crap out of the block before connecting hoses and using fresh coolant will help prevent a clogged radiator or heater core in your future...

I would replace all the filters if you have drained and/or opened the tranny...Obviously you will replace the oil filter so why not replace all the filters you can get at before running your new engine...

I do hope it starts and run for you...

I would be temted to take the plugs out and crank it over for a while to let the oil get round the engine as chances are everything will be bone dry internally.

That is a good idea
The trans filter was changed when I changed the gasket. I guess I should just change fuel filter to remove doubt in any issues to come.
