So... what was the conclusion with the roll over issue?

There's actually been a wreck here this past week where a girl got killed I know riding with her boyfriend in an 07 Silverado, hit a hole in the road, ran off the road, then over corrected, so the wider vehicles argument is somewhat true, but not entirely. I've got to agree with Koda, experience driving and with the vehicle is the biggest two things you can have with anything like an SUV/truck.

I'm glad to see this thread. Many told me I was 'crazy' when I blamed the 26psi recommendation on the door sticker. I filled mine to 35psi from day 1 (Of course when I did that, it wasn't to avoid a roll over, it was to avoid premature tire wear that comes with low tire pressures).

I have never had a tire shop question my putting tires on my Explorer. Seems odd that people still bring that up, considering I thought the key factor leading to the rollovers was the tread separation that came with overheating your under filled tires.

Fill the tires up and no more tread separation.

My main gripe is Uhaul STILL won't rent trailers for it... but they do for the Mountaineer. Makes perfect sense.

Yep. A neighbor of mine and I went to a motorcycle rally in June (when I still had my Ex) and UHaul refused to rent me a trailer (rally was 250 miles away and he didn't want to ride it). So we picked up the UHaul with his GMC and brought it back to my house and hooked it up to my Ex and loaded the bikes. No problems at all during the trip. We returned it hooked to my Ex. They sniped a bit about it being hooked to a Explorer on the return but I just told them settle up the bill and unhook the damn thing and I'll be gone.

That C and D test does not take into account one thing. Tread separation can wrap around an axle. It locks the wheel, and control is very difficult. Stability control may be able to account for something like that. How do you deal with such a situation?
