SO... yer thinking of an electric fan conversion...

Thanks again Glacier. I seem to be saying that a lot lately for some reason. That is a.....umm.....unique (only word I can think of) solution to the problem.

I mean when folks were sayin that there was a "slight interference problem" I kinda said to myself... nuttin a good torch or sharp blade might not fix.... and if you ever DID go back.... hey with the fan out the pump would be easy to replace. I like his guts. Good old roll up the sleeves engineering. My hat's off to Raipier.

ps. In a subsequent follow up when I mentined that thread to him he reported that he STILL needed to cut the top support and redrill a couple holes in it and relocate the radiator an inch or so forward to make it all work. maybe I'll coax him to post an updated report here.

While thinking about swapping to a pusher fan I found this old thread that I used many years ago when I did the E-fan conversation.

I would like to add (for anyone seeing this thread for the first time):

A Taurus 3.0 2-speed fan does fit well without any modifications to the water pump snout.

Its shroud almost completely covers the (1gen) 4.0 radiator. I have used it for several years (and two very hard trips across the US) and it was/is still going strong after pulling it out during it current engine swap. A little trimming on one side of the plastic shroud to shorten it up, and a quick piece of aluminum angle sheet metal and boom you're done.
