My brakes fell real soft. I have bleed then 2 time and had someone else bleed them to with the same results. The pedal is soft almost 1/2 then it stiffens up a lil. If i pump the brakes with the car off in about 4 pump they are really stiff. So what do you think i need to do next?

Edit i took of the vacuums line and air wosshed in. i tryed to drive it but the brakes ware super stiff. I think the booster is fine but i think its the master cylinder.

Did you ever let your M/C run dry during bleeding?
Sometimes air gets trapped in the ABS unit and you need a special tool to run the pump.

No it went to about 1/2 full i put new fluid in after i did the back 2. then i filled it back up after i did the front 2. It was like this when i bought it 2 days ago so i wouldn't know if it happened b/4. how could i check the M/C?

IF you don't know the history of the brake system, then it is possible that you have air in places that you never looked...:-) You need to bleed / exercise the ABS system which needs "tooling" to cause this.

So b/4 i spend 60 bucks on a new to me M/C i should take it some wear and have then flush the hole system and bleed the ABS, brakes, and everything.

yep. be sure to tell them to use special equipment to bleed the ABS pump.

thanks any way to check that b/c i spend the money tho.

also i seen that advances auto has the scan tool can they do it?

in my limited experience, when the M/C is "failing/failed", your foot goes to the floor as a result of fluid "by-pass" / leaks. Your situation would suggest an air problem.... but anything is possible so your $60 still might happen. Of course, an "abs bleed" isn't free either.

Ya i really drought my M/c has fail. I had one go out on a old truck and it like u said went to the floor and would not hold pressure at all since mine will hold pressure with the car off my M/C should be fine. Most of the time its about $50 buck for them to pull those scanners out.

I think the one they lend you will not read those codes. They sell one that can. Without an ABS light, there are most probably no codes in there.

yogi..., although it is a "form of scanner"... as mentioned, its not for codes as there probably aren't any, the "scanner" that is used is used to exercise the ABS module in terms of turning on the motor and "stuff"... they ain't cheap. If you search, you can find more info on "bleeding abs".

Ya i was asking about if they would have the one to lend me to do the abs not the one the reads CEL thanks guys im going to call a few places and see how much it will be.

No way will the DIY scanner they have bleed brakes. Its too much of a liability. BTW: There are special scanners needed to read ABS lights, but will not activate valves. The scanner you would need probably cost at least a grand, so calling is your best bet.

Im going to try and flush the system my self. Going to get a few bottles and flush about a bottle per each tire and not let it get less then 1/2 full to see if that helps b/c i just got 2 used tires on the front and it seemed to stiffen up a lil and it might help me save about $50 bucks.
