I'm thinking of replacing my 96 X with a newer one. But I'm concerned that if I buy one with the SOHC I'll have major timing chain issues.
Does anyone know if Ford corrected the problem and what model years are OK?
if u buy a 98+ with a sohc, the money u save will buy a new engine if and when the rear chain fails. the front chains etc can be changed with the engine in. and will start making noise to alert you to the imminent failure.
