Well I have had the normal problems with the sohc that every one loves. But I pulled the engine and replaced the guilds and chains. The timing was down propped and checked over by another pair of eyes. We dropped the engine back in spent some days making sure everything was hooked up correctly ( I did miss a couple things but found them ). We started her up and the idle was real bad. We checked over it again and I was advised to let it idle for a few min to have the computers reset themselves. So after about 2 min the idle started acting correctly again. I thought I would be able to drive it soon after... NOPE, after the third min it just stopped. I tried restarting it with no luck. It cranks over but will not fire up, almost like a engine with no fuel.
Since then I have checked the spark. 6 new spark plugs with correct gaps on all, they all fire. I've checked probably about 10 times now for vacuum leaks, nothing. I checked the injectors with a LED light and they fire and pulse correctly. I did a fuel pressure test and found about 41PSI at the rail, from what I found online that is within specs.
I will be doing a compression test in the morning and will post the results. Has anyone had a problem like this, if so what was your fix... Don't say get a different engine lol. I already did the bulk of the work to it so I'm game to do more.
