The passenger side exhaust manifold is covered in white where coolant has leaked. I'm hoping/thinking it is just the heater hoses and/or clamps. I know the clamps are OEM, the hoses could be also.

Both heater hoses are a two-part design with a connector tube.

The one little drip I did find was at a heater hose so I put a new clamp on but I'm still smelling sweet after the engine has been running. Can't see anything driping with the engine on or off.

Any way to tell if it is a more serious problem like a head gasket or crack?

Thanks
Chris

do you have any white smoke coming out the exhaust?

with the engine COLD cover up the computer and alternator and lightly spray all of the area where coolant leaked with water and start it up if the smell is still there then you probrally still have a leak

is the smell inside or outside of the car

Smell is outside the X.

Have not done a pressure test (yet).

There is no white smoke in the exhaust.

I have a rad- pressure tester and I am only a hop skip and jump away.
Lemmie know if I can assist.

I'm heading to Deep Creek (Western MD, not in the X) but I picked up heater hoses (one is molded w/90deg bend) the others are cut to fit yesterday at AutoZone. They normally have a presure tester but it must have been out on loan. I have an Advanced Auto near where I live so I see if they have one on Sunday.

I figure start with the easy stuff as the heater hoses look oem and not expensive.
