Was driving the Sport and the OD light kept blinking on and off, then all of the sudden the trans felt like it went into neutral. I pulled over and there was fluid leaking BADLY out of the passenger side of the transmission.

It looks like a round plug popped out. Is this bad news?

Yup, the snap ring was basically destroyed. So any idea why this happens? Mechanic repaired it with new ring, and seal, and of course all new transmission fluid.

He said no, spring was still there.

Well let me rephrase my original post. The cover "popped out" slightly, but was still half on. This is probably why stuff didnt fall out on the ground. It was open enough to leak tranny fluid though.

Since it was open, did the shop replace the servo as well as the snap ring and the cover o-ring to hold the cover?

Got any pictures???

I dont think so since they only charged me $75 labor + $45 for the o-ring, and snap ring. I didnt see servo anywhere on the receipt. Maybe it was still good?
