Solenoid - how to check?

Was wondering if you guys can tell me how I check the transmission solenoid -
just want to make sure it works before I put it in.

Should measure 20-30 ohms on the resistance setting of your meter. Depends upon which one it is though, it could be less, but get the reading, if its zero or you don't get anything its bad.

bought a solenoid from Rock-Auto and it seams to not be in good working order - want to check it before submitting a claim.

BTW - it's a 3-4 solenoid
