I have a 1994 Explorer that keeps burning up the solenoid. I will put a new one on, start it , then shut it off. When I try to start it again it just clicks. I can jump it across the terminals of the solenoid it starts right up. When I replaced the solenoid (3 times) it does the same thing.

Sounds like your battery might be on it's way out. If it does not have enough power you may experiance a voltage drop during startup. That will make the solenoid jump out (click) while the starter tries to engauge.

Check for voltage drop across all connections.

Battery is good. When I say "jump it" I mean across the terminals of the solenoid.

I would make sure that you are getting a proper signal from the ignition switch through the small blue/red (going by memory here) that pushes onto the selonoid, also make sure that the solenoid to body ground is very good. Sometimes the hole for the screw that holds the solenoid on gets worn and doesn't hold the screw good enough. It requires a solid mounting point to operate.
