First off welcome to the best site in the net. And there is no stupid question, because they are most likly to be the most important question. Have fun learning everythin you want to know about your explorer.

About the tires, a got a notice in the mail by ford saying to inflate the front to 30psi, and the back to 35psi. But i just run them at 35.

About the oil, i need 5 quarts of what brand you like and a oil filter.

i was thinking of going with mobil 1 or some other synthetic.

I highly recommend synthetic oils over petrolium

I highly recommend MOBIL1.

Ru Man, Ford sent you a sticker that said 30 psi front, 35 psi rear? They sent me a sticker that said 30 psi front, 30 psi rear.

Im running 30 psi front and rear and my tires are wearing like they are under inflated. could it be the 16" wheels on the short wheelbase?

Rhett, yeap that what they sent me. Thats fun they sent you somethin saying to do somethin different, or maybe i'm wrong. But i don't think i am, but sometime my mind tells me what it wants me to see. haha So i don't know. I run 35psi anyway, because i don't have the cheapstones, and that what Bfg says to run. lata

Expl99..if they are wearing badly then it might not be the psi...but then it might...but if they wear bad and you think your psi is ok, then there could be a suspension problem. It could be something out of alignment, just a tiny bit, causing it. In my case, I had a bad shock that was beginning to cause odd wear on the outside of the fronts. I fixed the shock, rotated, and no bad wear on the tires in front now.

Ru-M, Maybe Ford set a different psi for front/rear between XLT's and Sports...since XLT's have the longer wheelbase, and higher weight...

But I figured since 91 to 94 are largely the same truck, Ford would send the same sticker to everyone.
