Hi everyone, I have just started to post this great forum and need a little help with my door locks. They worked fine and now there is nothing?. They unlock fine no problem but will not lock even when the X is put into drive. Does anyone know where the relay of a blown fuse is located?. I don't have the book for the 96 xlt. Any help is great.

So you can unlock them with the power switch. But can't lock them from either side?

Do you have a remote? Could be just a bad switch.

What if you press the <7-8><9-0> buttons on the keypad?

going crazy

I don't have the code for the keypad. The doors will unlock with the remote or any of the buttons inside but the doors will not lock with the keypad nor the buttons inside. There must be a fuse or relay somewhere??

Well the code should be above the jack on a sticker.

I don't know what would control locking and not unlocking.

Sorry :(

If I remember correctly, there is a separate relay for locking and unlocking the doors. The relays are located in relay box #4 which is located behind the plastic trim panel in the driver side cargo area.

I have replaced two of the three door lock actuators, and both failed by refusing to lock intermittently, then pretty much always as they got worse. However, if none of the doors will lock, it is most likely a relay.

Cool!

:D Thanks for the help i will check it out and report my findings. Again great site and thanks for the help.:redexp:
