ok here we go. i live in yuma az. HOT AS HELL!!! so i was driving down the road nothing unusuall and came to a stop light. when i stopped rpm started dropping. i tried to give it gas but just sounded like poping then slowly died. started it back up then it did the same thing and died. pushed it of the side of the road came back an hour later started just fine drove home. next day drove to work no problem. after work on the drive home samething. ive noticed it is only doing this when it is hot outside, hot being over 105. the thing that gets me is temp is always way in side normal on the gauge. and on dirt roads and trails i have no problem its like black top is my enemy. people said my gas is getting to hot, vapor lock, get a bigger fan or radiator, its your fuel pump, its your mass air flow sensor, oh and get this i called the ford dealer ship here twice and the hung up both times. so iam at a loss. at a point where i have no idea what to do. please help

I think the Vapor lock is plausible for your high temps in the latter part of the day.

If the fuel is not complete liquid before it gets turned to vapor(boiling in the lines) the engine cant run. After it sits and cools the fuel is returned to a liquid form and the engine will start. Steel fuel lines and high temps will cause this. Rubber lines will preform better. Heat shields will help, as well as some types of gaskets that reduce heat transfer from the engine to the lines.

Regretfully, in your situation, your kinda stuck dealing with what you have. Old gas might not be formulated for your climate properly. Go with well known name brand gasoline, and places that tend to stay busy. They sell more fuel and have the latest formulated gasoline for optimal performance.

yeah also the vapor canister is stinky in the summer. gives the car a weird gas smell. kinda seasonal.
