Just as the title says. It has been about 2 weeks now, and it hasn't gone away. My thoughts are that I some how got water in some electrical parts, namely the distributor or harness associated with the distributor. I have pulled 2 ignition wires thus far only to find that they are perfectly dry. I will try the others when I get the chance to. I seriously doubt that any moisture got in to the wire boots/spark plug location.

Any thoughts as to where exactly the problem is? According to the Hanes it's electrical related... and commonsense says the same.

Thank you.

you may have comprimised a spark plug wire when it got wet and now it is working poorly or not at all........when spark plug wires get old they become somewhat poris.......ie.. they dry rot and get cracks.....when was the last time you had a tune up?

The last time I had both the spark plugs and wires replaced was about 25000miles/45000km ago.

I don't think the plugs are @ fault. More likely the wires, but they don't have a lot of mileage on them. Actually today when I was driving to school, it seemed to be a bit better than previous days. I don't know if that's just me or not.

Either way I will have a look at it on Friday. I just don't think it's the wires though cuz after pulling a couple of them off from the distributor I found out just how hard it would be for water to get in there.

Anything else?

I guess some water could have leacked into the distributor and messed somthing up.....but imm not sure.......Im actually drawing a blank.....do you have a check engine light?

Ford Tony:

No I don't have a cel.

I have washed my engine before, and this has happened every time. Normally it would stay for like a week or so. It's been a good 2-3 weeks for me now.

It seems to be getting better, day to day, but it's not where it should be. 3rd gear seems to be the most effected by it... and it also depends on how hard I accelerate/RPM's too. When the engine is cold, there seems to be no sign of it, or at least minimal. When it's warm, it's more noticeable. If I accelerate a bit slower than I normally do, than the engine doesn't miss or stumble at all. However when I accelerate like I normally do ( which I would describe as not too overly aggressive, but rather a normal rate of acceleration ) is is sure to stumble and miss a few times. At constant speed, this does not occur.

Thanx

mine does the same. dont know why. but i got a brand new engine in her. some people say it could be the tps.

Do you have access to an air compressor? If so, blow out all of the electrical connectors, pull the plug wires and blow them and the plug wells out as well. Nothing super direct, but enough to get rid of it. You can also use some electrical connector cleaner on some of them, it displaces water. It doesn't take much for water to get through. If you used a pressure washer, there is plenty of room for water to get forced into the connectors and/or the plugs/wires. Doesn't take much to arc and cause a miss. If it's still there, it's sitting or the heat would have dissipated it by now.
